The holiday season is supposed to be all about joy and good vibes—but for Miss Massachusetts USA 2024, Melissa Sapini, one December party turned into something she’ll never forget.
The drama unfolded at the Dreamland Stroll Party in Nantucket last year, when Sapini showed up with her friend Jordon Hudson—who also happens to be dating former NFL coach Bill Belichick. That night, things got tense when Hudson ran into Belichick’s ex, Linda Holliday.

According to people at the event, Hudson was approached by Holliday and her crowd in what’s being described as a heated verbal exchange. Holliday’s daughters were DJing the party, and it seems the room’s energy took a serious turn.
One detail that’s come out? Holliday allegedly made a pointed comment to Sapini, warning her to “think twice about who her friends are” if she wanted to keep her pageant title. While Sapini stayed quiet during the exchange, witnesses say she was visibly shaken and ended up in tears.

Now, after staying silent for months, Sapini is finally speaking up. In a calm and measured statement, she’s asking everyone to shift the spotlight away from the drama and back onto what she believes matters most—football.
“Honestly, I get that people are curious,” she said. “But I just think it’s taking attention away from something really special—what Bill’s doing with the UNC football team.”

She went on to highlight the dedication of the players and how hard they’ve worked to get to this point in their careers.
“These young men have put in years of effort. They deserve the spotlight as they get ready for a big season,” she said. “Let’s focus on that.”

Sapini was recently seen chatting with Belichick at the Miss Maine USA pageant, where Hudson competed. Both the Maine and Massachusetts competitions are run by the same organization.
As for that night in Nantucket, a source close to the situation said the vibes were more “mean girl” than merry. “Jordon didn’t start anything,” they explained. “But she was definitely targeted, and it wasn’t a friendly crowd.”
While emotions clearly ran high, Sapini is choosing to look ahead—away from the headlines and onto the football field. And if she has her way, that’s where the real story will be this summer.
