Lily Allen and David Harbour are calling it quits after four years of marriage. The singer and the Stranger Things star, who tied the knot in a fun Vegas wedding back in 2020, have officially gone their separate ways, according to multiple sources.
An insider revealed that their relationship has been on shaky ground for a while now. “Her marriage has been crumbling, and they have split,” the source shared. However, neither Allen nor Harbour’s representatives have commented on the news yet.
Lily, 39, recently hinted at personal struggles during an episode of her BBC podcast, Miss Me?, with her friend Miquita Oliver. While she didn’t go into specifics, she mentioned going through a “tough time” that was taking a toll on her mental health and eating habits.
Their love story began in 2019 when they first met on the celebrity dating app Raya. Things moved fast, and by 2020, they were saying “I do” in a quirky Las Vegas ceremony officiated by an Elvis impersonator. Lily’s two daughters from her previous marriage—Ethel Mary, 13, and Marnie Rose, 12—were also there to witness the special moment.
Throughout their marriage, the couple openly shared some unique aspects of their relationship. Earlier in 2023, Lily revealed to The Sunday Times that they had an unconventional phone arrangement—Harbour controlled which apps she could have, and she did the same for him. She also launched an OnlyFans account to sell pictures of her feet, which, according to her, Harbour found quite amusing.
On her podcast, Lily talked about their personal life, including moments when she turned down Harbour’s advances in bed. In June, she joked about possibly “kink-shaming” him, playfully describing how she sometimes used the classic “I have a headache” excuse.
Despite these lighthearted admissions, their relationship seemed to take a turn. In September 2023, Lily shared a heartfelt Instagram post celebrating their third wedding anniversary, calling it the “2nd best decision” she ever made (the first being her wedding dress). Just two months later, in November, Harbour told PEOPLE how they gave each other space and found balance in their marriage.
“I think my wife likes when I go to work,” Harbour said. “It’s nice for her to have her life and me to have mine, so we’re not annoying each other all the time.” He also spoke fondly about raising Lily’s daughters together and how their bond had grown stronger over time.
Their love story had plenty of memorable moments. Back in 2021, Harbour shared how a conversation with Lily’s daughters inspired him to propose. While on a bike ride, the younger one accidentally called him “Dad,” which led to a debate between the two sisters about what role he actually played in their lives. “She finally said, ‘He’s just some guy in our lives!’” Harbour recalled. That moment made him realize he wanted to make things official with Lily.
When they first started dating, Harbour knew Lily was special. During a 2022 interview with British GQ, he revealed that after just three dates, he told her something very personal about himself. Her reaction made him realize she was “somebody I want to be around.”
Over the years, they made many public appearances together, including red carpet events and family outings with the girls. From attending the Stranger Things season 4 premiere to singing along at Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, they shared plenty of happy moments.
But now, after four years, their love story has come to an end. While the couple hasn’t spoken publicly about their split, fans can’t help but look back on their whirlwind romance and wonder what’s next for them both.
