JoJo Siwa is making waves again with her fearless fashion and bold statements! The 21-year-old performer turned heads at the GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles on March 27, rocking a brand-new mohawk that sent a powerful message of LGBTQ+ pride.

Siwa shaved the sides of her head, leaving a mohawk that appeared to be a bleached dirty blonde. But the real showstopper? Each side of her head featured striking colors—one side a vibrant rainbow to honor the Pride flag, the other a blend of pink, blue, and white to represent the transgender flag. To add even more flair, the white section sparkled with encrusted jewels.

She didn’t stop at just the hair. Siwa’s outfit was equally eye-catching and full of meaning. She wore a dazzling jacket covered in rainbow and transgender flag details, with bold lettering that read “Trans rights are human rights.” The back of her jacket featured a shield with crossed swords and the words “Protect trans kids”—a strong and clear message of support. She paired the statement piece with bedazzled shorts and stylish high-tops to complete the look.

The former Dance Moms star has come a long way since her reality TV days, building a career as a pop icon and LGBTQ+ advocate. Siwa publicly came out in January 2021 through a series of TikTok and Instagram posts, sharing that she had known since childhood. “I never wanted [my coming out] to be a big deal,” she previously said. Her mom, Jessalynn Siwa, chimed in, saying, “A mother knows.”
Adding to the buzz of the night, Siwa was seen at the event with Kath Ebbs, whom she has reportedly been dating since December. The two shared a sweet moment as Siwa planted a kiss on Ebbs’ cheek.

Earlier this week, Siwa also announced her upcoming North American tour, offering VIP packages where fans can get a behind-the-scenes experience by helping her crew set up at various stops.
The GLAAD Media Awards, established in 1990, celebrate media figures who promote fair and inclusive representation of the LGBTQ+ community. And with her latest statement-making look, JoJo Siwa once again proved she’s not just a performer—she’s a fearless advocate for love, inclusion, and self-expression.
