Here’s What Happened Between GloRilla and Megan Thee Stallion—And Why Fans Were Freaking Out
It all started with a song—and ended with social media drama.
Fans were quick to notice something was off between Megan Thee Stallion and GloRilla this week. The two rappers, known for their fiery collabs like “Wanna Be” and “How I Look,” suddenly stopped following each other online. That move alone had the internet in detective mode.
What sparked it? A song choice. GloRilla reposted a quote about being “grateful” on her Instagram Stories—but the kicker was the background music: “Y.D.L.R.” by Tory Lanez.

Lanez, in case you missed it, is currently behind bars after being found guilty of shooting Megan in the feet back in 2020. So when fans saw GloRilla vibing to his track, it didn’t sit well—especially not with Megan’s loyal followers.

Things escalated fast. Some eagle-eyed fans claimed Megan even deleted her birthday post for GloRilla. Suddenly, the once-tight friendship looked rocky.
But GloRilla didn’t let the chatter go unchecked. Later that same day, she tweeted:
“Ion internet s— and I don’t do mess! It was an innocent repost y’all bsn.”
In plain speak? She said it wasn’t that deep—just a harmless song choice, not a statement against her friend.

And it seems like the message got through. The two are now back to following each other on social media, putting the brakes on the fallout before it got out of hand.
Meanwhile, Megan had just clapped back at Tory Lanez and his fans the day before, responding to fresh claims from his legal team. They held a press conference claiming there’s “new evidence” suggesting someone else pulled the trigger in that 2020 shooting.
Megan was having none of it.
In a fiery TikTok post, she wrote:
“At what point are y’all gonna stop making me have to relive being shot BY TORY!? … How y’all mad at the person that got shot??”

Her lawyer, Alex Spiro, also weighed in, saying:
“This is not a political matter — this is a case of a violent assault that was resolved in the court of law.”
So while GloRilla’s song post may have ruffled feathers, it looks like the real story is a whole lot deeper—and thankfully, her friendship with Megan isn’t over.
Because sometimes, a song is just a song… and an unfollow doesn’t always mean the end.
