Even superheroes get nervous sometimes—just ask Chris Hemsworth.
The Aussie actor, best known for his role as Thor in the Marvel Universe, recently got candid about a surprising moment of vulnerability while filming his latest movie, Crime 101. And believe it or not, it had nothing to do with stunt work or intense action scenes—it was all about working with a Hollywood legend: Halle Berry.
Hemsworth, 41, shared the story during a red carpet interview at Amazon MGM Studios’ presentation at CinemaCon 2025 in Las Vegas. Standing beside Berry, 58, the actor admitted that filming scenes with her was a little intimidating at first.
“I’ve looked up to Halle for so many years,” Hemsworth said. “So when I finally had to sit across from her in a scene, I was like, ‘Don’t mess this up. Don’t be starstruck.’”

He joked that it was hard not to be in awe of her, but any nerves he had quickly faded once they got rolling. According to Hemsworth, Berry made the whole experience feel easy and natural.
“Some people just have this energy that makes you feel safe to try new things, to be creative,” he said. “That’s exactly how it felt working with Halle. I loved every second of it.”
And the admiration clearly goes both ways.
Berry, who plays a weary insurance agent caught up in a high-stakes jewel heist in the film, had plenty of love for her co-star too. She called Hemsworth “one of my new favorite people in the whole wide world” and praised him for stepping up for her in a moment on set that she’ll never forget.

“I won’t go into the details,” she said, “but there was this moment during filming, and he stood up for me. He didn’t have to—but he did. And in that moment, I knew: I’ll be a fan of his forever.”
Hemsworth, clearly touched, responded with a warm “Back at ya.”
Their upcoming thriller, Crime 101, is based on the Don Winslow novella and follows Hemsworth as Davis, a skilled jewel thief planning one last big score. Berry’s character gets pulled into the mix as his reluctant partner, and Avengers alum Mark Ruffalo rounds out the cast as an LAPD detective hot on Davis’ trail.

The film has already generated buzz, not just for its gripping story but also for the unexpected chemistry between the leads.
But Hemsworth’s recent revelations didn’t stop with Halle Berry.
Just last month, during a sit-down on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the actor shared another awkward-yet-relatable moment from the Oscars red carpet. While attending the 2025 ceremony with his wife, actress Elsa Pataky, Hemsworth spotted Billie Eilish and couldn’t resist snapping a selfie.

“I was telling myself, ‘Don’t do it, don’t do it,’” he said, laughing. “But then I thought—my kids are gonna love this.”
So he took the photo… and instantly felt a little weird about it.
“I went from work colleague to fan,” he said, joking that it probably ruined any chance of becoming best friends with the Grammy-winning singer. “We’ll never be besties now.”
Whether he’s geeking out over icons or cracking jokes about fangirling over pop stars, Hemsworth’s charm lies in how down-to-earth he is—even when he’s playing larger-than-life roles. And with Crime 101 on the horizon, fans are eager to see how he brings his latest character to life alongside Berry’s powerhouse performance.
From nerves to newfound friendships, it looks like this film gave both stars something to remember.
