On Valentine’s Day, a community in Kent, England, was shaken by a heartbreaking tragedy. Lisa Smith, a 43-year-old mother from Slough, was fatally shot outside The Three Horseshoes pub in Knockholt. The incident happened on Friday evening, February 14, leaving loved ones and locals devastated.
According to Kent Police, officers were called to Main Road, Knockholt, at 7:02 p.m. after reports of gunshots. When they arrived, they found Lisa with serious injuries. Despite efforts from emergency responders, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation quickly revealed that the suspect, who is believed to have known Lisa, fled the area. Authorities now suspect he may have fallen from the Queen Elizabeth II bridge while attempting to escape.

Police have been conducting extensive searches around the River Thames, as a car and firearm linked to the suspect were discovered near the Dartford Crossing. Witnesses reported seeing a man on the wrong side of the bridge’s barrier before he vanished.

As the investigation continues, heartfelt tributes have been pouring in at the scene of the shooting. Flowers, heartfelt notes, and a balloon reading “Wonderful Mum” were left outside the pub. Messages of love and sorrow, such as “Rest in peace” and “Fly high, pretty lady,” reflect the deep impact Lisa’s passing has had on the community.
The Three Horseshoes Pub & Restaurant expressed their condolences in a Facebook post, sending love and support to Lisa’s family, friends, and all those affected by the tragedy.
The small community of Knockholt is left mourning the loss of a beloved mother whose life was taken too soon, as the search for answers—and the suspect—continues.
