Manhattan, NY – A man was taken into custody following an alleged attack on two New York Police Department (NYPD) officers at a Manhattan subway station on Wednesday, February 12.
Incident Details
According to a statement from the Deputy Commissioner of Public Information (DCPI), 35-year-old Corinthian Hills was arrested after a confrontation with officers at the West 4th Street subway station. The incident occurred just before 3 p.m. local time while officers were conducting a routine station inspection on the northbound platform of the A, C, and E subway lines.
Authorities stated that Hills was behaving “disorderly” and drinking wine from a glass bottle when officers approached him. As they attempted to engage him in conversation, he allegedly broke the bottle and used it to slash one officer’s left hand. During the arrest attempt, Hills is also accused of biting the second officer on the left leg.

Arrest and Charges
Following the altercation, police took Hills into custody and transported him to NYC Health and Hospitals/Bellevue for evaluation. Both injured officers were taken to a nearby hospital, where they were reported to be in stable condition.
Hills has been charged with multiple offenses, including:
- Two counts of second-degree assault
- Resisting arrest
- Obstruction of governmental administration in the second degree
- Violation of local law
- Disorderly conduct
At this time, it is unclear whether Hills has legal representation.
